Cook Cares, the foundation arm of our organization, announced the dates for the second Chipping in for Charity Golf Tournament at Royal Lakes Country Club on Monday, October 2, 2017, to raise money for local charity Sisu.
Sisu — formerly known as Challenged Child & Friends — offers a one of a kind educational environment where children ages 6 weeks to 6 years with and without special needs learn and interact alongside each other.
Cook’s generous sponsors, more than 100 golfers, and numerous staff from supporting companies around the state join the Cook organization each year at Royal Lakes to help raise funds designated to invest in the children in this community.
Greg Swinks, COO for Cook stated that he is constantly impressed by the work that Sisu provides the children in our community. “When we spoke to Sisu about their needs and discovered that one of the things they were hoping to be able to raise funds for was new flooring — we knew it was a perfect fit for this year’s tournament.”
“We have many of our vendor partners who help support this event each year and helping raise funds to provide the best floor coverings possible for these children was an easy effort for each of our sponsors and teams to get behind and support” stated Swinks.
This year’s tournament will include the opportunity for participants to play for a lease on a car with a hole in one donated by Milton Martin Honda. Charity Golf Guns will once again return for this event with their AR-15 to give participants a chance to “shoot” their ball instead of driving it on hole 3 with the closest to the target receiving a prize.
Keith Cook, the President, and CEO of Real Estate, expressed his excitement about this event. “Our company believes that giving back to the kids in our community is a vital part of the success of our area and for future generations. When you invest in kids, they tend to return that investment later in life. We know that building better communities is more than just building the physical buildings — it’s about building a better environment to go with those communities. Sisu does just that”
